Slackers

I'm sorry I've been slacking with my posts lately.  Work has been very busy the past few weeks and I was getting organized because my last day was Friday.  I'm waiting to get the contract for my new job, which has me feeling like my life is in limbo.  I like to plan ahead and be organized.  I have no control as to when they send me my contract, so I'm going to clean (cleaning helps me gain control, I know it's weird!).  And tomorrow it's time to unpack my Fall clothes (I have to pack away my seasonal clothing because my closet is not big enough)  I'm off for the week so I plan to use this time wisely and get things organized on the home front.  And also because M and I have been spending money like a poet on payday, it's time we give our livers and bank accounts a break.  I am also planning to browse ALL the Spring 2010 Collections, so I'll have lots to post about.  In the mean time here are a few great pics from SSS and FaceHunter.  We are so lucky to continue to have such gorgeous weather, the sun is still warm but the air is getting crisp, anyways I felt these ladies really had a grasp on that tricky look we call 'transition style'.

The Next Step

Top (H&M), High-Waist Trousers (H&M), Belt (vintage), Necklace (Winners), Cuff (Bali)
I went for another job interview yesterday.  This is the 'one'!  I can feel it!  Sorry you can't see the shoes, I had on grey patent heels (Le Chateau).  Super comfy trousers though.  Just picked them up; they are really high-waisted and slouchy, and they also look great cuffed.  I think they are my new staple piece.

'I Can't Live Without...'

I'm a beauty junkie.  I've seen it all, tried it all, and love or hated it all.  I have a pretty good handle on the products I can't live without.  These are a few of my favorite things...

Starting from left:

1) Life Brand Nighttime Baby Bath in Lavender - this is the best bubble bath I have ever used.  I rep a line of high end personal care products and even their bubble bath does not compare.  You barely need to use any and it produces TONS of bubbles, smells great, and the bubbles last, even through an extra long soak.  And I bought it at Shoppers for only $1.99!

2) Philosophy's Falling in Love Perfume - I usually buy Lollia's WISH, which is unbelievable.  However on my last trip to Sephora, there was a huge line up.  As I waited in line browsing the bins of mini items (is it just me, or do mini items always look more fun?!)  I saw a mini Falling in Love perfume, as an impulse buy I decided to give it a try.  Well I love it!  It's a cool scent, but has a warm sweet undertone.  I can't really describe the scent, it just smells great!  I find this perfume is a great transition into my Fall scent (Lollia's WISH)

3) Benefit Hoola Bronzer - Best bronzer.  It has a matte finish, and can be used on pretty much any skin tone.

4) Scott Barnes Diamond Dust Loose Powder - this is a miracle product.  No joke.  Scott Barnes is famous for giving JLo her glow, and this powder does the trick.  I use a large powder brush and dust the powder all over my face concentrating on my cheek bones, forehead and chin.  It honestly does brighten your complexion when your not feeling tip-top.  In other words it fakes a good nights sleep and makes it look like you've been drinking your 8 cups of water, and not substituting them for 3 glasses of wine!

Please note:  I stocked up on this products last spring, Scott Barnes Cosmetics is being discontinued.  However he is looking for new investors and will hopefully be returning.  But the girls at Beauty Bar are fabulous and can help you find a similar product!

5) Benefit Miss Popularity - A precision highlighter for the eyes and face.  I think any white eyeshadow would do the trick, this particular product is nice because of the foam applicator and the powder stays in the tube.  I usually dab a bit on the inner corners of my eyes, my brow bone and on the corner of my mouth (it's suppose to help with making your smile brighter)  A great tool to freshen up your face before heading to happy hour!

6)  Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara - now I have tried many, many mascara's in my day.  Everything from Bad Gal to Dior, Lancome to Chanel, and I have to say this mascara is just as good, if not better than the $25.00+ competition.  With the exception of the Kevyn Aucoin's Curling mascara (although it dries out pretty fast).  It you want dramatic volume and length this mascara will do the trick.

7) Goldwell Kerasilk Anti-Frizz Serum - I have curly hair that I usually brush out and wear wavy, this serum is perfect for smoothing down my hair without looking greasy and heavy.  It quite light and works on all hair types (my cousin uses it and her hair is 10 times thicker and longer than mine)

8) Aveda Phomollient - this ultra light styling foam adds volume and shine.  It's the perfect hair accessory, you really can't add too much.  Works great with straight or curly hair, and is excellent for restyling your do.  Plus it smells great!

9) Biotherm Biopur Mask - this is a fabulous product for when your skin needs a pick me up.  You only need to leave it on for about...1 minute!  And in that 1 minute it tightens and brightens your face.

10) Vichy NormaDerm Face Wash - A new fan to this product.  It deep cleans but does not leave my skin dry.  And absolutely no residue.

And one last product that is not show -
Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips - I am a lip gloss junkie (I honestly have about 9 in the bottom of my purse right now) but the Buxom Lips are the best lip glosses I have ever used!  They come in a million colors.  I loved Margarita for summer and am now wanting Cherry for Fall.

What are your 'can't live without' products?  I always love trying new items!

Not to bad for Payless.  I mean for under $50 bucks, can you really go wrong?

PS I just called and checked, these boots are not available in Canada...yet.

Kate & The Gypsies

Photography Iain McKell

I do believe that Ms. Kate Moss has not missed a beat.  And it may be a cliche but she really is one of my all time favorite style icons.  I remember even in my early teens seeing ads and editorials of KM and being in awe of the cool confidence she exudeded.  Anyways best editorial I've seen in a while.  *ucking hot.
