Toasting the Bride

Part of the reason M and I went on our road trip through Alberta was to attend my long time friends wedding reception ~ her wedding ceremony was actually held in Mexico in May.  The bride had asked my mom and I to give the 'toast to the bride'.  I was honored to have been asked, but I was quite nervous before hand.  However after a glass or two of wine my nerves settled, and our speech went extremely well!  We had the whole room cracking up!  It was a beautiful reception and I could not be happier for my friend and her wonderful husband :)

Short Summers

 The way it's going on the west coast of Canada, I feel as if summer will never find us.  Where are you sun?  I'm tired of wearing jeans and tights.  Yes ok, last weekend was beautiful...but that was one weekend!  I have tons of great summers outfits to parade around in...so hurry up summer!!  Until the warmth reaches me, I'll continue to take inspiration from those who are fortunate enough to be enjoying bare legs.

Photo Credit: Pierpaolo Ferrari I take no credit for this post~I was browsing the exquisite Anna Dello Russo's blog.  Her style is inspiring, her work is passionate, and her presence is like no other.  My favorite quote has to be #10.  I remember in grade 10, my best friend and I wore matching green and red polyester men's dress pants, which we bought at VV ~ we told everyone that gave us strange looks that' we were Christmas!'  It was a hit!  So although those VV were not designer, and they really had NO style!  It was OUR fashion!

Rocky Mountain Highway

M and I just returned home after a week long road trip through the Canadian Rockies.  When I was younger I spent a lot of time in Banff and Canmore, but I don't think it matters how many times you see the Rocky Mountains ~ They are BREATHTAKING!  We stayed in Radium Hot Springs, Canmore, Banff, stopped in Calgary for a great lunch at FARM, then headed to Red Deer to visit one of my best friends.  We ended up in Edmonton for another friends wedding Saturday night!  After a long week of eating, drinking and sight-seeing, we drove 14hrs home to Vancouver yesterday.  We stopped along the way, had lunch with my parents in Jasper and drove through Mt. Robson Provincial Park.  A great week spent with my love  :)
